Labor Day is the major holiday in September. Besides Labor Day sales, final End of Summer sales and final back-to-school sales will be found.

  • Large Appliances — If you need to spring for a new fridge, oven, washer or dryer, Labor Day is the perfect time to get up to 30 to 50% off on those pricey appliances. Scour Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy and Costco for the best deals on these items.
  • Mattresses — You may have missed out on all the previous sales events surrounding mattresses, but Labor Day gives you another opportunity to get a much better night’s sleep. There are tons of online mattress retailers that are looking to grab a piece of the market, and that means the shoppers will benefit with some due diligence.
  • Airfare — August and September are usually the best months to buy plane tickets. If you see a good price during this month, jump on it before they skyrocket during the busy holiday travel season in November and December.
  • Grills — Just because it’s getting cooler doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a nice steak or well-marinated steak, especially as tailgating season is upon us. Because they’re going out-of-season, grills will be on sale from Lowe’s, Home Depot and Dick’s Sporting Goods.
